Today’s Workout & Spinach Garbanzo Pate

I went to bed on Wednesday (at least I think it was Wed) at 10 pm only to wake up at 2 am on Thursday at

which point it made no sense to go back to sleep since I can’t seem to get on a schedule.  Me and Alex decided to go to the gym – their web site proclaimed that they had family swim from 11 am – 2pm – they didn’t.  They changed it effective November 9th – I was stuck with a very disappointed 7 year old, but at least the child center had lots of kids.

I hit the treadmill at 2 incline, 2.5 speed for 30 minutes.  Then off to the free weights for Dumbbell Bicep Curls, Hammer curls, Barbell Curls, Overhead Tricep Extension single arm, Dumbbell Tricep Kickbacks, and inclined Skullcrushers all for 3 sets of 10-12 reps.  I then hit the back extension  bench for side and back extensions in super sets of 3 sets of 8 reps.  I finished with a super set of Squats, Plie Squats and Pelvic Tilts with a stability ball against the wall. Rounded the whole routine off with 15 minutes or so of yoga stretching.

Alex and I went to Flat Top Grill for lunch – they are now offering lettuce wraps as an option so I cut out the carbs that I eat while there. Half way through an extremely long lunch (odd because there were only 4 other tables seated) I got really tired and had to call home for the boys to come pick me and the car up.  When I got home at 3pm I headed straight to bed.  I woke up at 8pm and was a little hungry but not wanting anything specific to eat.  I’m not a huge fan of pasta products – I really just love tomato sauce, and occasionally garlic bread.  So I took two pieces of my wheat Great Harvest Bread Company bread and coated it lightly with Garlic Expressions and popped it in the toaster oven.  Then I took a can of garbanzo beans, mashed them with a potato masher, threw them in a pan (no oil necessary because there is inevitably a little water left in the beans), some spinach and tomato sauce.  I simmer until warm and mixed then plop on my plate with my garlic bread – delicious. Maybe more like mash than pate.

That garbanzo bean/spinach pate sounds delicious. I’ll have to try that. Great blog. I’m forwarding the url to my friend. She’ll love it. Thanks also for your comment on my blog.
