Noon Power Yoga at Central Park Athletic Club
One of the other instructors was out today so I had a few new faces in Power Yoga. We started with 10 of the Malasana Flows, ran through Downward Facing Dog to Plank with modifications, Downward Dog to Side Plank, Downward Dog to Plank Crunches, a Crescent Flow to High Lunge with Yoga Mudra and forward fold, then some arm work and then Mushti Mudra in High Lunge to Virabhadrasana III to stork to Ardha Utkatasana, back to downward dog. Then an Utkatasana flow working the calves and twisting to a Warrior flow series. We finished up with some static seated postures, Yogada and Savasana. I think we were all pretty sweaty by the end of class – I drank almost all of my 38 oz water and grabbed a towel from the bin to blot my face before sweat got into my contact lenses. Power Yoga isn’t my personal style of choice, but I can’t deny it is an all over excellent workout. Even through all of this the baby has not dropped any lower and looks to be staying on its own schedule – even the ankle and foot rubbing has done nothing to induce signs of labor – oh well guess I am hosting Thanksgiving after all (just kidding – I am happy to have it, I love cooking).
