Yoga for Foodies comes to Chicago
Anyone else remember when we attempted this in class with chocolate? We had a chocolate and yoga class once a long time ago. You know I am not a fan of fasting, this is my kind of experience!
At One Yoga Co-Founder & Yahoo! Wellness Expert David Romanelli’s
Jam Sessions: Yoga for Foodies national tour continues with multiple stops in the Windy City.
With the Food Network smashing ratings records, the rock star chef is riding a wave of foodie-inspired mania. In a quest to showcase the talents of chefs across the nation while embracing the art of food as an accessible gateway to the present moment, David Romanelli (aka Yeah Dave) presents Yoga for Foodies. Yoga for Foodies is a national tour whereby in each city David will collaborate with prominent, innovative chefs to create a unforgettable foodie experience.
The next stop for Yoga for Foodies will be Chicago, IL – March 8th & 9th With Randy Zweiban at Province Restaurant. Tour dates include stops in Phoenix, Dallas, Washington DC, Charleston, Bridgehampton, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston, Sedona, New Orleans, Ojai, Aspen, Vail, Memphis and Minneapolis and NYC once again.
Having co-founded At One Yoga, a nationally recognized chain of Arizona yoga studios known for playing a prominent role in modernizing the ancient practice, David Romanelli has spent the past 5 years traveling the country sharing his Yoga + Chocolate and Yoga + Wine experiences. “Yoga for Foodies was the next step,” David says. “Seeing what a piece of chocolate or a sip of wine can do in a post yoga state of mind, one can only imagine the power of a delicious meal experienced in an intensely present moment.” David’s debut book Yeah Dave’s Guide to Livin’ the Moment: Getting to Ecstasy through Wine, Chocolate, and Your Ipod Playlist (Broadway Books) shares David’s accessible, often irreverent approach to yoga, self-improvement, and inspiration. With Yoga for Foodies, he seeks to emphasize with humor and fun the importance of our food’s origin, freshness, and effect on our bodies (i.e. Slow Food movement).
The Yoga for Foodies experience begins with David’s 1 hour vinyasa flow yoga class whose music and message will emphasize a more sustainable pace. When we move in a frenzied way through the day, we don’t eat… we "feed." This high-velocity lifestyle diminishes the flavor and essence of life. In the process, we’ve grown accustomed to eating on the run often being "nourished" by a bag of chips and a sandwich to go. Our palates have evolved to enjoy tastes that are invented in factories by food scientists. David, in partnership with an array of amazing chefs, will touch upon tastes, sounds, and message that arise from the earth and nourish us at every level of being.
As you enjoy a post-yoga splendor, each chef will delve deeper into the mystery of her creations which are rooted in sustainability, eco-friendly practices, local farming, and compassion. The Yoga for Foodies experience will be the dream evening for anyone who relishes a savasana so sweet you never want it to end; a bite of food so perfect you feel like the world stopped spinning; an evening so deliciously amazing, you’ll want to sign up now because it will fill up soon…
