I received a review copy of this DVD and while the music and some of the camera angles may make you less apt to hit the mat and more apt to hit the bed with your partner, the workouts are truly innovative. Going beyond the average partner yoga classes that even I teach. Some of these exercises truly require you to be physically fit, in particular the exercise where the man is used as a dip machine for abdominal work. This DVD may not be for everyone though.
I think it takes a certain type of couple, ready to explore their relationship on a deeper level through fitness. They may sound odd, but it is true. Think about how we cope on a daily basis with others who don’t meet or expectations. Then add in something slightly competitive, something that shows virility, strength and suitability as a mate – physical prowess and working out. I think couples need to keep a playful heart when working out together so it doesn’t denigrate into a blame game, or name calling (ie: you can’t do a push up?)
This being said, Dean and Lori meld together and work seamlessly towards their goal, but that might not be how it is for everyone. So watch and use this video with a grain of salt.
